SwingThing are a Carlisle based band who mainly specialize in providing a brand of quality music to local, and not so local, jazzclubs, restaurants, hotels, bars etc. etc. We are also able to provide music for other situations for example, weddings, corporate functions or Jazz festivals. It is possible to hire the band in a number of formats from duo to five or even six piece if required, and subject to availability of musicians.

Meet The Band:

Keys ……………Brian Melville – professional educator and musician with 30 years experience of playing in many venues in the UK and abroad.

Drums………… Dave Thompson – very experienced having completed several stints as a professional in the UK and abroad.

Bass…………… Laurence Blackadder – a pupil of Zoltan Dekany and Iain Crawford principal bassist- Scottish Symphony.

Saxophones…Jonathan Melville – outstanding and talented young musician currently working and available in Leeds. (Check for availability)

Vocals…………Ronnie Walker – excellent vocalist in the mould of Frank Sinatra
